Product Overview

Push Rod Cables

Aptiv Interconnect manufactures highly specialized Push Rod Cables designed for the demanding world of pipeline and sewer inspection and no-dig pipe repair. Unlike conventional electrical cables, these cables are engineered with a unique combination of linear rigidity and flexibility. This allows them to be pushed through pipes and conduits, effortlessly navigating bends and obstructions, all while ensuring uninterrupted, high-quality transmission of video and data signals from inspection cameras and sensors. Our cables are built to endure. The robust construction is optimized to withstand the harsh conditions found in underground infrastructure, including abrasion, chemical exposure, and significant mechanical stress. This durability ensures reliable performance and longevity, making our Push Rod Cables an essential tool for professionals seeking efficient and non-invasive methods for infrastructure maintenance.

Features and Benefits

  • Durable, High-Strength Construction: Our cables feature a high-quality, epoxy-reinforced fiberglass rod at their core, which provides superior linear stiffness and exceptional fatigue resistance. For high-strength applications, a braided synthetic fiber strength layer, such as Kevlar or Vectran, can be added to provide pull strengths ranging from 800 to 20,000 lbs.
  • Optimal Flexibility & Maneuverability: Designed to maintain the necessary rigidity for pushing while being flexible enough to navigate complex pipe geometries and tight bends.
  • Harsh Environment Resistance: The cable jackets are made from highly abrasion and chemical-resistant materials like polypropylene copolymer. Other jacket materials like Hytrel or Nylon are also available for specific environmental needs.
  • Reliable Data Transmission: Our cables incorporate a variety of designs to support a range of signal types, including 75-ohm coaxial designs for CCTV, SDTV, and HDTV, Twisted pair and Ethernet pairs, Fiber optic elements for extremely long-length applications up to 3 km.
  • Customizable Options: We offer a variety of customizable features, including different fiberglass rod diameters (from 2.5mm to 6.3mm), various conductor configurations, and jacket materials to meet the specific requirements of any inspection job.
  • Long-Lasting Performance: Engineered for durability and protection against wear and tear, reducing the need for frequent replacement and providing a superior return on investment.
